SUBMITTING TO CIFF 2009

The 5th Camden International Film Festival is now closed for submissions.

CIFF is New England's leading independent documentary film festival and each year more and more films achieve success after CIFF screenings. Recent successes include THE WAY WE GET BY (SXSW Jury Winner, Full Frame Audience Award, 2009) and THE GARDEN (Oscar-Nominated, 2009).

Over the years, the festival has hosted numerous guests, industry representatives and filmmakers from all over the world. We're here to create an environment unlike any other festival around. Our programs have attracted industry attention and we look forward to continuing in our pursuit to exposing great nonfiction filmmaker to the widest possible audiences. Filmmakers, keep doing what you do - there's a spot for you here at the 2010 Camden International Film Festival.

Submissions will open February 15, 2010. We look forward to seeing where next year will take us.

Testimonials for CIFF '08

"At the Camden International Film Festival, the focus is on the films and the filmmakers with a healthy emphasis on food, drinks, and good old Maine hospitality. I was impressed with the breadth and diversity of the finalists and found the audience to be engaged and interested. Thank you for hosting an incredible festival that breaks out of the standard film festival mold."
Travis Rummel – Producer, Red Gold

"The CIFF crew have provided, yet again, a weekend overflowing with delicious food, responsive audiences, fantastic parties and, best of all, superlative films. If the festival continues on its current path, it will probably take over the world in a decade or so."
Ian Cheney – Director, The Greening of Southie

"The CIFF programming was very well done, and the scheduling was great because I actually had time to see most of the films, which all complemented each other well. The intimate environment provided a chance to talk to filmmakers that I had been in other festivals with but hadn't had the time to talk too."
Danielle Bernstein – Director, When Clouds Clear

"Our work in progress screening at CIFF showed us that a general audience will connect to our film at so many different emotional levels, and gave us confidence not only in our film but the potential for the film in the marketplace."
Gita Pullapilly – Producer, The Way We Get By

Testimonials for CIFF '07

"The Camden International Film Festival was one of the highlights of our festival tour. The line-up had some of the best documentaries on the circuit and the audiences were intelligent and enthusiastic. What's not to love about great film, great organically grown local food and a beautiful New England Backdrop?"
Randy Stulberg- Director, Off the Grid: Life on the Mesa

"A boutique festival, the Camden International Film Festival takes the stress, chaos and frenzy out of the festival experience. It is what a great festival should be: fascinating films, crisp sea air, bustling cafe/bookstores, theaters with balconies and velvet seats, and enthusiastic audiences with smart questions. I have already marked my calendar for next year."
Dallas Brennan Rexer- Producer, Election Day and MediaRights.org

"The Camden International Film Festival 2007 was intimate, professional, and most importantly a darn good time. It's a beautiful place for a festival, and if the lobsters don't rope you in then the top-notch films certainly will."
Ian Cheney – Producer, King Corn

"I can't imagine a better way to have ended my festival run that with CIFF. I had one of the best crowds I've ever had, the Q & A was lively, the audience vocal; I chalk it up to the amazing job the crew did in getting the word out about CIFF. It's truly a filmmaker's festival."
Tara Wray - Director, Manhattan, Kansas
