1 Month Down, A Final Look at the 2008 CIFF

Despite the threat of hurricane force winds, Presidential Debates, and crashing stock markets the 2008 Camden International Film Festival prevailed. Attendees flocked to the Midcoast by the thousands for one common purpose, to experience the very best in non-fiction storytelling. If you missed anything, be sure to check out the photos.

Thanks to all our extremely generous sponsors, 50+ volunteers, thousands of attendees and very special guests who helped us make this year truly unforgettable. Your dedication is unparalleled, and your commitment to our vision, extraordinary.

Aside from all the wrap-up, we've been diligently working on a very special first for the festival. Starting this year, and continuing annually, CIFF will be awarding several cash prizes. We hope these awards go to good use, and help these talented filmmakers get their films out to the largest audience possible.

We've also jumped on the bandwagon and gotten our very own blog. It gives us a good excuse to rant and rave, and gives you the opportunity to dissect the documentary form and stay connected with all the happenings from our very famous CIFF Alums!

Check back often for info on some special off-season screenings throughout Maine, new videos, photos and podcasts from the 2008 fest and much more. And of course, we'll see you next Fall for our 5th Anniversary Celebration!

Another Successful Festival!

It's hard to believe that only five days ago we were sitting in the CIFF house watching Kelly and Jon construct a stage for our sock puppet, drinking Shipyard and obsessively watching the weather channel. It feels like weeks have gone by since then - I am back in New York and although sleep deprived, reminded of what is important in life and re-energized to keep going after it.

Thanks to everyone who came out in the rain to see the shows - we hope that they brought new perspectives into your frame of reference as they did for us. If you saw something that really tugged at your heart strings don't let it fade away! Check out the films' websites, email them your support, buy some DVDs, tell a friend, get involved.

Stay tuned for updates, photos etc and email us at info@camdenfilmfest.org with thoughts on this year's event - we'd love to get your feedback.

Feedback

The Camden International Film Festival 2007 was intimate, professional, and most importantly a darn good time. It's a beautiful place for a festival, and if the lobsters don't rope you in then the top-notch films certainly will.
